Yahoo!!! we finally won our first game this season. Mark this as the starting of us getting back our former glory from last season (i hope). It was a really great game last night. And dont worry lvrpool we are going to come and get you second time around!!!

Login to Send PMGreat game last night(Spitfires V. Renegades), i think everyone on the pitch and the few watching would agree. Game was back and forth and contested to the last minute. Amazing game from both Keepers i thought as well, could have been 6-6 or so.

In all seriousness, I think you might be the first poster from the East. Th east is mysterious to us, many of the names I don't recognize outisde of Hustler Project and the Mexicans. I'm sure we'll all be reacquainted in the playoffs! Any information/projections you want to share to get the ball rolling?

Login to Send PMWell I am on Hustler, and will refuse to comment on the team in the forum for many reasons (PM me if you are that curious as to why).
Here's my breakdown.
Chelsea and Uno are definitely the teams to beat. After facing both, it is definitely obvious that these guys have played together for a while. Passes are crisp and they know where each other will be at almost all times. We tied Chelsea on a day where both teams were not at their best, but I have seen them play since, so there is a definite difference from the team we played.
Metro FC - Has some talent, but can be broken down on defense with some solid pressure. They were beaten soundly by us a couple weeks ago, but last week held Chelsea to a fairly close (scoring) game. So they could be a hot/cold team, or we caught them on a bad day.
Paul and the Mexicans - I am lost to describe this team. In their first three games, they score 22 goals. Then are held to 8 over their next 4. We played them in one of their weaker games, and should have beaten them by much more, but couldn't put the shots on net (if near the net counted, it would have been a blowout)
FFC - Should this team end up in the playoffs, any team should be wary facing them. They don't score a ton (disregard their last game against Puretap), but play a solid game and are competitive against some very good teams (beat us 3-1, and lost to Chelsea 2-1)
Ultras - COULD be a much better team than they are. Unfortunately they have problems with their finish and their defense (aside from one player. i cannot remember his name or number, but can't miss the ponytail) is quite shaky. We played them last Sunday, and aside from a free kick a the top of the box, didn't pose too much of a challenge to us.
Global Strikers - This team, if they stayed together for a couple seasons, could be a team NOBODY wants to face. They have some great strikers, and one hell of a goaltender (when we played them, he single handedly kept the game from being a 7+ goal blowout), but their mids can be pressured off the ball and their defense can be broken with little pressure applied.
Puretap - I cannot comment on them at this point as I haven't seen them play, nor have we played them (we play them in two weeks). But looking at their score lines, I don't think they are playing very cohesively, or strong. But I don't want to pass judgement yet, I could be eating my words in two weeks.
Hope that gives those of you from the C WEST some insight.

Login to Send PMA few more games left in the season.. In the west it looks like Wolfpack Masters is trying to get a hold of the last playoff spot... One of AbsoluteFC or Spitfires (maybe Vipers?) will be a casualty if that is the case...
The east looks pretty tight too with the Ultras & FFC trying to claw into the last spot..
And we have another Rec C classic derby coming up this weekend... Renegades vs Absolute. We really can't get enough of playing these guys!!! The first game Absolute came out ahead 3-1, so we know Renegades want to make a game of it... Plus they get to play spoiler to our playoff chances like we did to them last session. Oh, how the tables have turned...

It's amazing how you left out the fact that we only had 6 players that night! I really hope we get a rematch against your team this season. Your team was up 5-0 with a minute left, our team was exhausted, and you were still pouring on pressure trying to score! WTF! The outcome would have been much different if we had a full team! Login to Send PMUltras. I was not trying to knock your team. I saw a good amount of potential to be a very good team, but due to a few issues (fouls aside), you are losing games. You have 5 games ending with a goal difference 1 or less and three games ending with a differencial of 4+.
The reason i said you could be a much better team is based off of two games i have seen your team play, and the one you played my team.
Yes your team was short handed that game (and our bench was loaded up), but even from the start, when your players were fresh, there wasn't a massive threat to our defensive side. Some mistakes by us, some offensive threat was applied, but the finish was not there. The closest you came to putting one in was the free kick at the top of the box. It made its way through the crowd and the screen but was saved. The rest of the shots were manageable. Whether that is our team's defense playing well, or a lack of finish from your teams forwards, or both. Personally, I believe it was a mix.
The games I have watched, your team was not short benched, or playing a team with such a deep bench, and saw a similar situation. Your team has some guys who, if and when they put some passes together, can be deadly effective. But I have seen many a breakdown of your teams morale and overall play when the opposing team can provide enough pressure.
I said you could be much better and be a very difficult team to play (fouls and all that crap aside), and I stand by that. We do play you, in the last week and I am looking forward to a hard played game. I would expect no less. All the best until then.
